Some services for your website

Many sites provide services which you can integrate into your website, here is a list of what you can do:
statistics Essential knowledge of the visitors to your site: pages most visited, in which country are your visitors... Either your host provider offers this service (this is best), or you use an external service.
hit counter In theory, this allows you to see the number of visitors to your site but it's not very useful because:
  • either your website doesn't have many visitors - so it's ridiculous
  • or your site has lots of visitors and this is useless information - it's success is enough. Plump for the statistics.
  • you can falsify the figures, nobody's really interested anyway
comments book This allows your visitors to leave comments and impressions, which can be interesting but it's not very interactive.

forums If you're dealing with a very specific subject this will allow your visitors to exchange ideas and experiences. It's a good way to gain your visitors' loyalty.

chat Unless your website is extremely well-known (in which case it's highly unlikely that you are reading my little website!) it's really not worth venturing into the management of a 'chat'.

survey If it's quick and easy, the response rate will be high enough for you to be able to draw some conclusions.

email form This gives you the possibility to retrieve the contents of a form filled in by your visitors. Don't forget to integrate one into your website, all the host providers explain how to do it and it will enable your visitors to communicate easily with you. (see this website's example on the contact page)
