Windows' file manager

Explorer, the file manager of windows by default, allows you to easily and intuitively connect to an ftp server in order to transfer all the files relating to your website

Once you have your connection information (server, username, password), open the file manager

Next, type:

 ftp://username:password@server 

A folder will appear underneath the Internet Explorer symbol, with the name of your server on it. All you need to do is copy and paste or drag and drop as you are used to doing with a normal folder

This extremely practical method should nevertheless be reserved for small updates. When transferring bigger or more numerous files you are better off using one of the two alternative methods which we have suggested here.
